Signs of spring in the allotment

Some of the plants and trees in the allotment have started budding; it definitely feels like spring is just around the corner. In another few weeks you'll start seeing people coming more regularly to the allotment as they prepare for the start of the growing season.

Spring is a busy period for allotment gardeners. The ground will need digging and preparing and some of the early starting crops will start going in. This year I'll start off with some early peas, onions, carrots and whatever I can find in my seed box that can be sown this time of the year.
