Quick update

I've spent most of this year eagerly awaiting spring to arrive. There were many early signs, but things weren't moving very fast, but now all of sudden, spring is finally here and I seem to have been caught by surprise, because I find myself running a little behind.

Here are some photos from the allotment.

Last of the potatoes go in!

Ran out of seed potatoes, so cut the last row ones into halves.

Signs of spring in the allotment

Some of the plants and trees in the allotment have started budding; it definitely feels like spring is just around the corner. In another few weeks you'll start seeing people coming more regularly to the allotment as they prepare for the start of the growing season.

Spring is a busy period for allotment gardeners. The ground will need digging and preparing and some of the early starting crops will start going in. This year I'll start off with some early peas, onions, carrots and whatever I can find in my seed box that can be sown this time of the year.
